Kiwanis International’s motto is “Serving the Children of the World.”

And that’s what we do at Kent AM Kiwanis!

Kent AM Kiwanis

Serving the Kent Community since 2005, our goal is to make a difference in the lives of children in Kent and around the world.

Whether we are reading to school children, doing park clean-up for the City of Kent, feeding the community, or conducting meetings over food at Maggie’s on Meeker… we are doing it with enthusiasm. Kent AM (Awesome Members) Kiwanis is a group that believes that One can make a difference… Are you that one?

Service

  • We’re known for our soup making and over the years we’ve made hundreds of gallons of soup to feed those in need in partnership with other charitable organizations, such as the Kent Emergency Cold Weather Shelter, Ray of Hope, and others.
  • On the second Saturday of every month we clean up downtown parks in Kent, we follow this with breakfast at Maggie’s
  • We have read and given books to ECEAP classes in three different locations as well as to Kindergarten classes.
  • We provide handmade blankets and scarves for those in need.
  • We have set-up a Little Library at the Kent YMCA.
  • For many years now, we have served a meal at Camp Eyabsut, a place where young burn survivors discover their strength, build confidence, and create life long friendships.
  • And more…

Service Leadership Programs

  • Our club supports two Key Clubs, a Kiwanis High School Youth Leadership Program, at Kentridge High School and Kentwood High School.
  • We also enjoy supporting the Green River Aktion Club, a unique service organization for adults with disabilities.
  • We’ve supported both the PNW and KI’s foundation from our very first year, these foundations offer youth scholorships and grants for regional projects.
  • Our club is always looking for more community service projects and ways to engage with the community.
